Picnic in the Summer

Summer is approaching which means the days are getting warmer and warmer. That also means lots of beach days! I know not everyone has access to a beach, but you can have a lovely little picnic wherever you choose! It’s so nice to be in a relationship and still go out and have dates! I have been with my boyfriend for five years, and we try to go on dates and do cute little things for each other as often as possible! I love picnics because you don’t have to spend too much money on things and it gives you a great reason to go out on a beautiful day at the beach or the park and spend quality time with your partner. It doesn’t necessarily need to be a boyfriend, it can be with whoever you enjoy spending time with.

In the summer, I enjoy going to the beach because its beautiful outside and its great to spend time outdoors for a change. I know it can get crowded during the summer, so it’s not always incredibly relaxing, but it’s important to make the best out of any situation. I wanted to share some of my essentials for a successful picnic at the beach. Every time I go to the beach, I take this huge bag where I carry all my beach necessities! I throw in towels, sunscreen, lip balm, sandals, sunglasses, extra clothes and so many more things! I love having a huge bag where I can fit lots of stuff! So for this picnic, I also threw in extra Ziploc bags, straws, and some reusable cups. My picnic basket comes with plates and the silverware so I didn’t need to worry about utensils.

For our picnic, I packed Aaron and myself some sandwiches, watermelon, and some lemonade. I also took a bottle of water, one that is v cold and refreshing. It’s important to stay hydrated on a hot, summer day or just any day in general! We usually put our phones away for a few reasons, one being that we want to spend some quality time together and another because no one likes sand getting all over their phone (literally the worst!). We love watching the waves and talking about whatever is on our minds.

We also took a little game to play and add to our fun. For a while, we played with this  Velcro Toss & Catch, which we both haven’t played in a v long time. It was so much fun and we were able to burn off some of our energy by running around. We took turns trying to throw it as far as we can, but of course, I couldn’t throw it very far haha. It just made me happy to do something fun with Aaron and spend quality time with each other! There are other games I wish I planned for the beach, but now I have ideas for next time!

I hope this inspires any of you to go out and have fun under the sun for not too much of a cost! I had so much fun with Aaron, and I love spending time outdoors whenever possible.
