My Go-To Breakfast

Happy Sunday everyone! We made it to the holiday season! With that being said, our days get a lot busier this time of year, and we have to remember to keep our bodies fueled with food. Today, I want to share 5 of my favorite ways to enjoy some yummy toast! All these recipes are super simple and take less than five minutes to create.

Avocado Egg Toast

What you’ll need:

  • Bread of your choice
  • Avocado
  • Everything but the Bagel seasoning blend (From Trader Joes)
  • Egg

So, this is one of the easiest ways to enjoy avocado toast. Start by toasting your bread and cutting your avocado in half. You can either cut half of the avocado into slices or squeeze it out into a bowl and smash it. Spread the avocado onto your bread, cook your egg to your liking and place it on top of your bread. Sprinkle some of the Everything But The Bagel seasoning right on top!  I love cooking my egg over easy. I know not everyone is a fan of it, but I just love the runny yolk. Also, this seasoning is LIFE! It absolutely changed my world, go buy it! I am sure you will not regret it!

What you’ll need:

  • Bread of your choice
  • Lemon Pepper
  • Lemon
  • Red pepper flakes

Start by toasting your slice of bread. Squeeze one half of the avocado into a bowl, and smash it with a fork. Follow this step by squeezing a little bit of lemon juice into the mix. You’ll then add some lemon pepper and red pepper flakes into the bowl to your liking and mix it with a fork. Once you are done mixing, spread it onto your toast. I personally like adding a little bit more red pepper flakes and lemon juice right on top. Enjoy!

Peanut Butter & Strawberries

What you’ll need:

  • Bread of your choice
  • 1-3 strawberries, depending on size
  • Peanut butter

This toast is as simple as it gets! Toast your bread. Once toasted, spread on some peanut butter. Cut slices of strawberries and layer your desired amount of berries onto your peanut butter toast. It tastes a lot better when eaten warm. This toast is also one of my go-to toasts when I want something a little more sweeter!

Hummus with Basil & Heirloom Tomatoes

What you’ll need:

  • Hummus
  • Mini heirloom tomatoes
  • Fresh Basil
  • Black pepper
  • Olive oil or Avocado Oil
  • Bread of your choice

Start by toasting your bread. While toasting, cut your heirloom tomatoes into halves. Once the toast is toasted, spread some hummus onto your toast. Sprinkle red pepper and cut the fresh Basil into smaller pieces. Add the freshly chopped basil to your toast, and add the sliced heirloom tomatoes on top. Drizzle a little bit of oil of your choice (olive or avocado oil).

You can use whatever kind of baby tomatoes you like, but I love the taste of the heirloom tomatoes the best! It’s my only option haha. If you haven’t tried them, I highly recommend it!

Bruschetta Toast

What you’ll  need:

  • Bruschetta ( I get mine from Trader Joes. Find it by the pasta sauce!)
  • Fresh bail (optional)
  • Parmesan, Romano & Asiago cheese (Got my mix at Trader Joes)
  • Red pepper
  • Lemon Pepper
  • Bread of your choice

Start by toasting your bread. Once toasted, spread some bruschetta onto your toast. Sprinkle on some red pepper & lemon pepper. Follow the sprinkling by more sprinkling of the cheese onto the toast. Lastly, add some fresh basil & enjoy!

This toast reminds me a lot of pizza, kind of weird, but the bruschetta and the cheese give it that kind of vibe! I know Aaron, my boyfriend, has been loving this toast the most. This toast is definitely a must try!

These are all the types of toasts I’ve been enjoying recently. Of course, you can always customize or substitute for other items! I hope this helps you out in making yourself a quick little breakfast or a snack before your busy day!
