Rainy Weekend in Los Angeles

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a great weekend overall. It rained all weekend here in Los Angeles, and I loved every second of it! We don’t get a whole lot of rain here, so you encounter people who either hate it or love it. Either way, there isn’t much anyone can do about it so might as well enjoy it! With that being said I wanted to share with y’all what I did for this past couple of days since a lot of people feel discouraged when it rains.

Friday, February 1st:

On this lovely morning, I decided to sleep in a much as possible! I have felt exhausted for the last couple of weeks, so that really felt good! Aaron and I eventually got up and got ready for the day. We first went to a tag sale, and I was sooo excited because the girl who was having the sale, Clara, is an amazing vegan LA-based baker who I have been following for a few years now. She has such cute style, so I was all for it, haha. Plus I love buying second-hand goods! Aaron ended up getting a couple of books, and I got a few aprons and a v nice sheer long sleeve. We also got three acrylic tables for around the house! After the tag sale, we went to a shop called Potted where they sell beautiful plants, pots, and outdoor decor! I bought a small plant (don’t know the exact name, but it’s in the Snake Plant family!) and some matches. We didn’t know what else to do and eventually found ourselves at Stories, which is a v cool bookstore where they sell coffee & beer! We hung out in their outdoor patio for a while, and I enjoyed a cup of coffee while Aaron had a beer. We did have a late start to the day, so we didn’t do a whole lot, but it was indeed a great day.

Saturday, February 2nd:

Slept in again, I know what the heck Janet! Haha no, but seriously it feels so good to sleep in once in a while.. in this case, two days in a row! Haha. It was pouring all day, so it was nice to stay in bed extra, extra long!! I spent some time scrolling through social media, watching YouTube videos, watching some tv and all of that fun stuff. Eventually, I got up and decided it would be fun to use one of my “new” aprons and do some baking. I made a Vegan Strawbery cake and some delicious cookies following Clara’s recipes. I thought since I was wearing one of Clara’s old aprons it was only appropriate to bake some goodies from her book! Btw if any of you are looking for some delicious vegan recipes definitely check out her book, Clara Cakes. Its cakes, cookies, and bars (so like pastries) but hey, its fun! I ended up making some cheese lasagna for dinner and it was so delicious. I pretty much stayed in my kitchen for the majority of the day while Aaron was working on a fun painting! I also ended up cleaning my kitchen because of all the mess I had created when I was baking haha. It was a perfect way to enjoy the day indoors since it had been raining most of the day.

Sunday, February 3rd:

Ohh Sunday! One of my favorite things about Sundays is that it can either be the end of your week or the beginning, depending on the way you look at it. I love lighting all my candles first thing in the morning, showering and then relaxing and taking care of myself for a little while.  After I did all of that, I wanted to go hang out outside of my house since the day before I spent it indoors all day. We ended up going to Melrose for a while just to walk around, and the ended up over at Silverlake. We went to Alfreds which is still one of my favorite coffee shops in LA and went to a few shops nearby. We then stopped by a mural by an artist named Mel Kadel who Aaron really likes. I also came across this cute little shop by the mural where they had some photographers work and such cute clothes and jewelry haha. After, we pretty much headed home and watched some of the Super Bowl. After the Super Bowl, Aaron continued on his painting, and I was just hanging out listening to music while I also planned out my week.

I did a lot of hanging out alone as well with Aaron, which was lovely. I look forward to many more days where I can take it easy without feeling overwhelmed. It was nice to just go along with the day without overly planning every move. I hope your weekend was just as good. Wish you all a lovely week.

Also, if you have some extra time please click here to read an article about my journey as a blogger! Thank you all!

xx, Janet
